В. П. Помозов (1949-1986)

Victor Pomozov, born in 1949, Belarus, graduated from the Belarusian State Conservatoire (Assist. Prof. P.P.Padkavyraw’s class of composition, 1976), postgraduate courses (Prof. Y.A.Glebaw‘s class of composition, 1979). Winner of Belarus State Prize, 1986. Member of the Composers’ Union of Belarus, 1978. Died in Belarus, 1986.

Principal compositions: cantatas «Pesny a Zgody» («Song of Agreement»), «Zaruchyny» («Engagement»), vocal-symphonic poem «Yanka Kupala», a symphony, symphonic poems «Memory», «Legend of Zaslawl», suites «The Country Musicians», «Batleika», instrumental pieces for folk instruments, a vocal cycle, music for theatre and cinema.
